For architects and fabricators it is basic knowledge but constructors often do not know about the hardware of a window. From the end users’ point of view it is important to find out more about it because of rising concerns about protection from burglary and comfort of living.
A window is more than just a hole in the wall. It is a matter of a carefully coordinated system which relies on the quality of the individual components. Therefore, hardware is often described as the motor of a window: A window can only be used because of this element.
More than a closing mechanism
The word “hardware” includes nearly all mechanical elements which control the closing and opening functions of a window. You can divide it into elements of window sash and window frame. A gearbox that controls different functions because of moving the handle, and a shear belong to the elements of window sash. The shear causes a changing from a position of turning into a position of tilting. A striker plate for locking the window and the bottom hinge belongs to the frame part. As a torque the window supports the weigh of the window sash.
Our window hardware is available for timber, PVC and aluminium systems, as well as other materials, offering the customers a wide range of design possibilities.
- they will assure the functions of windows and doors
- spend press compression for weatherability to the window frame
- provide comfort of control
- maximise protection from burglary
- provide added safety with child-proof mechanisms.
