At the end of August and in the presence of numerous representatives from politics and economy sector, Mr. Wieland Frank, the general shareholder of SIEGENIA-AUBI, opened the company’s new apprenticeship centre.
Vocational training is of high importance for SIEGENIA-AUBI which was highly praised by one of the prominent guests, Dr. Annette Schavan, the Federal Minister for Education and Research, who was impressed by the modern equipment of the new building and expressed her appreciation for SIEGENIA-AUBI’s engagement in support of young employees. During a visit to the factory, the Minister Schavan showed high interest in the company and used the opportunity to talk with employees and managers. And despite the Minister’s busy diary, the originally planned 30 minutes visit lasted an hour.
In the list of prominent guests were also included Willi Brase (member of the German Bundestag), Paul Breuer (District Administrator of Siegen-Wittgenstein), Werner Buedenbender (Mayor of the Wilnsdorf community), Angelika Flohren (deputy mayor of Siegen) and Klaus Graebener and Franz-Josef Mockenhaupt of IHK Insurance in Siegen. All guests also used the opportunity to gather information about SIEGENIA-AUBI’s services and capability.
Future plans are to educate twice as many technical trainees
For a long time SIEGENIA-AUBI has ensured that school graduates received qualified and successful professional training. The trainees will now get the chance to improve their practical qualification using the new 500qm facilities. Combining different departments creates a certain synergy that in the future will make the education more effective. 45 technical trainees will benefit from the new facilities from the middle of September.
Michael Hackler from the HR department says, “The new apprenticeship centre creates both the necessary conditions for an efficient structure of professional trades as well as ensuring that we can strengthen our engagement in the young employees. With the extension of our capacity we can offer twice as many training placements to interested school graduates in the future”.
The optimisation of the training and further education placements open new perspectives for dual study graduates. The extended number of available placements ensures that SIEGENIA-AUBI can also develop its activities in this area.
